Description
One of the oldest buildings in the small historic centre of Pomarance, with a total surface area of approx. 300 sqm on 3 floors above ground and further cellars in the basement. At the rear of the building is a delightful courtyard-garden enclosed by walls, ideal for creating an exclusive place for conviviality and relaxation.
Like all historical buildings, only careful and accurate restoration and renovation work will really bring out the special features and the small and large treasures that are still hidden within the ancient walls. The future destination can follow the needs and plans of the new owner: as an exclusive B&B di Charme, as a main residence for a nice family or even as an income property.
Entirely new roof (summer 2023)
An opportunity to be seized for all those who are looking for large spaces and historical charm!
Pomarance, whose origins date back before the year 1000, retains the structure of a medieval castle with walls and gates. Particularly evocative is the view of the 'caves', a landslide phenomenon similar to the Balze volterrane that, over the centuries, has swallowed up the oldest buildings.
Numerous noble palazzi line Via Roncalli, including Casa Bicocchi, a perfectly preserved residence complete with all furnishings and open to the public, palazzo de Larderel in neoclassical style that belonged to the de Larderel family, the family that began the exploitation of boraciferous fumaroles, and palazzo Ricci that houses the municipal library and an interesting collection of Pomarance ceramics from the 16th and 17th centuries.
In Pomarance there is a supermarket and many general shops, a riding school with the possibility of a horse-riding school, a wellness centre, tennis courts and basketball courts also available at night.
There are typical restaurants both in the village and in the neighbouring hamlets where you can enjoy typical local dishes.
